CHNET-Works! Fireside Chats are always the result of working in partnership with colleagues and organizations related to the discussion topic.
Who partners with CHNET-Works! ? CHNET-Works! partners with non-government and government national or provincial/territorial population health related organizations to provide opportunities for discussion and collaboration for evidence based policies, programs and services to address current and pressing population health issues.

Partnering can include a range of activities:
- Helping with promotion of CHNET-Works! Fireside Chats via websites, email broadcasts, newsletters, announcements at meetings etc....
- Providing Advisors on Tap - leading edge experts per research or application related to the discussion topic, or recommending potential Advisors on Tap
- Contracting CHNET-Works! to deliver a Fireside Chat (see information below re: Steps Involved in Preparing for a Fireside Chat) Cost recovery fees include: human resources, technology and teleconference fees. We have a sliding scale of fees.
- Collaborating on follow up action identified during Fireside Chats e.g. developing resolutions and position statements to help mobilize stakeholders on a population health issue
Why partner with CHNET-Works! ? Fireside Chats can be tremendously helpful If your organization is working on a pressing population health issue and would like to use inovative technology to: - Disseminate leading edge research and application information to a broader audience per sectors and jurisdictions - Facilitate more discussion around the issue - Support mobilization around the issue
What does CHNET-Works! provide in a partnership? Having successfully hosted over 190 Fireside Chats since 2006, we can provide knowledgable consultation and support throughout the entire process of Fireside Chat development, delivery, and follow up. This includes suggestions for appropriate or inovative presentation/discussion formats as well as logistic and tech support for communications and promotion, tips for presenters and interactive discussions as well as facilitation expertise. All logistics are supported by online technology - registration, access instructions for participants, feedback forms and discussion recordings. Discussions can be open to all CHNET-Works! and partner contacts or internal to the community health partner.

Steps Involved in Preparing for a Fireside Chat 1. Identify key audience and outcomes for the discussions Who do you hope will participate, what is the key motivation for their participation. What do you hope will result from the Fireside Chat discussions? 2. Identify a topic/title per a current and pressing population health issue and outcome (sharing information? mobilization?) 3. Identify and Confirm Advisor(s) on Tap See Fireside Chats - Advisors on Tap for more information re: roles and responsibilities 4. Confirm a date/time 6 weeks or more preparation time is recommended Preferably Wednesday, Thursday or Friday Suggested Time: 1:00 - 2:00 PM Eastern Time (to allow participation from Canada's five Time Zones) 5. Promotion: Identify the key audience to reach, organizations and communication venues that would support promotion. Create a promotional blurb, an enticing 4 - 8 sentence description of the Fireside Chat for posting on websites and email broadcasts Collaborate with CHNET-Wroks! on reaching the audience with promotional information 6. Preparation: Prepare a PowerPoint presentation, related discussion questions for the participants. 7. Co-host the chat The co-host from the partnering organization would assist as a moderator per welcoming participants, introducing the Advisors on Tap, facilitating discussions and assist with follow up. 8. Follow up: What follow up strategies do you want to include? e.g. Feedback? Establish a working group? Establish a community of practice? Encourage and support advocacy, education, networking, training? Capacity building? Evidence based policy and program development? Current and past partners include:
