The CIHR Institute of Population and Public Health, in partnership with the CIHR Institute of Neurosciences, Mental Health and Addiction, the CIHR Institute of Nutrition, Metabolism, and Diabetes, the CIHR Institute of Gender and Health, the CIHR Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health, the New Brunswick Health Research Foundation, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, will soon launch a strategic initiative entitled "Programmatic research to tackle health and health equity".
Programmatic research involves connected sequences of conceptually related research projects, executed by the same group of investigators and their decision-making partners. This RFA will support programs of research in the following areas: 1) Pathways to health equity, 2) Population health interventions, and 3) Implementation systems for population health interventions in public health and other sectors.
To support the research community in effectively responding to this RFA, we are planning a series of one-hour virtual capacity building sessions for interested applicants. During the session, the host will draw upon personal experience in developing a program of research and how this differs from the implementation of individual research projects. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
