What is CHNET-Works!?

Hosted by the Population Health Improvement Network at the University of Ottawa, CHNET-Works! is an evolving  infrastructure, using innovative information technology to help support discussions and actions on pressing community health issues.

CHNET-Works! MemberCHNET-Works! is a networking venue dedicated to bringing together community health professionals from across Canada - linking researchers, decision-makers and practitioners.  It is a network of networks.

The intent is to make leading edge research and application information accessible, to enable discussions  and to support individual and collective action on community health issues.
Working in partnership with provincial, territorial and national organizations, two streams are evident: continuing education and mobilizing the network to action.

Current priority community health issues for 2009 - 2010 discussions are:
Climate Change and Health
Healthy Aging
Multiple Interventions

Send your letters of concern about Climate Change (Environment) and Health to federal political leaders:

Other community health issues are included in discussion venues as they emerge and per our work with community health partners.

Comments from Fireside Chat Participants:
"With the tight economic times, sessions such as the CHNET-Works!  Fireside Chats give communities a chance to participate in a larger arena without the cost of travel. "

"Keep up the great work bringing people across Canada together.  I've enjoyed several Fireside Chats!"

"I ended up with 20 - 30 colleagues joining me! Everyone was very positive about it and got something out of it. We were physios, OT's, nurses and a dietitian. Included in these professionals were many of my Falls Prevention Program team members. Thank you very much"
